Walter Beck laid the foundation stone for today’s company with a water level indicator for domestic washing machines. Shortly afterwards, he developed a diaphragm pressure switch for monitoring water levels in the first fully-automatic washing machines. Following a phase of vigorous growth, Beck became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pressure switches for large domestic appliances.

In the mid-1970s, Beck developed new markets, extending its customer base by adding numerous industrial application areas. In 1985, Beck presented a differential pressure switch for fan monitoring in gas heating appliances.

At the end of the 1980s, Beck established itself in the ventilation and air-conditioning market with an adjustable differential pressure switch for monitoring air filters and fans. In 2000, Beck rounded off its range of products for this meanwhile important market by adding a transmitter for differential pressure, which further enhanced the company’s market position worldwide.

At the same time, Beck still regards itself as a flexible niche provider of customer-specific pressure switches and pressure transmitters for original equipment suppliers in many different sectors.

This great diversification in sales markets can be regarded as an important factor in the company’s international market success.
